Jean Homian DANUMAH from Ivory Coast is doing a PhD in the WASCAL program at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana. He arrived in Würzburg on the 2nd of December to work on remote sensing analysis with his PhD supervisors. The aim of this scientific visit is to improve his knowledge in remote sensing and flood modelling. Especially, to develop and improve specific skills for the assessment of land use and land cover classification and land cover change analysis. His specific study area is located in the south of the Ivory Coast, Abidjan. He will work on an improved urban classification with several urban classes as well as learn how to apply R in his spatial modelling and remote sensing approach.
